Observation details
Tiny empid, mistaken for kinglet at first glance. Two wingbars and thick white eye ring, much more obvious than willows seen over the summer. Found first at 11:30 at the entrance to the field directly across the trail from pond entrance. Silent, very active moving around the brush with one good look in the open. Took off, then relocated on main trail slightly north from pond entrance. Again moving quickly around dense trees, this time more vocal with frequent “whit” notes.
