NOTES: PREDOMINANTLY A RECORDING OF TACHYBAPTUS RUFICOLLIS; BUT THE HARSH QUICK CALL OF THE GALLINULA CHLOROPUS CAN BE HEARD. EARLY AFTERNOON. REED INLET BY HIPPO POOL. BNA: I am not sure if any of these vocalizations were given by Gallinula chloropus, but I can say that nothing here sounds like a vocalization that would be given by a New World population of this species. The calls most likely to have been given by Gallinula (or a similar species) are those at 2:26 (not unlike calls in ML 2828 and 2829 from Japan and possibly a Squawk) and 2:38 (much like call in ML 2832 and possibly a different variation on the Squawk). (CAM - 2 March 2005). Habitat: Lake.
