Observation details
Here are digisoped images of very distant, mid sized shorebird with mixed flock of shorebirds, it appeared larger than Dunlin smaller than Killdeer, much larger than Leasts. Bill mid-sized and dark. Dark cap, buffy breast/upper belly and neck (really stood out easy to relocate in flock), the area between the dark cap and and mantle were much paler buffy, white lower belly and undertail. Back was darker with large spots. Legs were pale and mid length (shorter than yellowlegs length). While observed the bird stayed on the dry mud most of time. lost sight of bird when flock was strafed by Peregrine. I considered Buff-breasted but Ruff Juvenile seems a better fit.
