Observation details
With mixed sparrow flock. A little over a mile south of trailhead. Where the river comes close to the trail and across from a frontage road bridge. Pink legs, all pink bill, faint eye ring, streaked back, white wing bar, almost no rufous on face some in the crown. Coming in to drink I did not see again despite searching. These are the only variations I have for photos. Total observation time was ~30 seconds before it disappeared on the other side of the river. A search of online photos and discussion with other birders led to the conclusion the bird was not likely to be a Worthen's Sparrow in part due to the very bold white wingbar.
