Observation details
photos sleek empid with minimal eyeing, contrasting white throat, fairly broad billed with medium primary tip extension giving long tailed look...smaller with different posture, habitus, bill shape, etc. than Eastern Wood-Pewee with shorter winged appearance than pewee. It was dwarfed by nearby Eastern Phoebe. It stayed inside the canopy as it flycatched, and became aggitated to Alder Flycatcher playback. It gave diagnostic peet call notes numerous times, although it never gave a song. It never gave any vocalizations consistent with Willow Flycatcher. I am familiar with both species.
