Observation details
Brown plumage, with obvious checkered pattern to the back, white face with eyes that appear small. Straw colored bill with straight upper bill, held up slightly when at rest. Has a faint brownish collar. At least a third larger than a Pacific it was first seen near and slightly larger than 3 Common Loons in the same general area. Photos by Dave Klema are attached. He took them after I called him and he came out to view bird from my location.
