Media notes
This bird was seen by many and initially misidentified as a Common Poorwill. Review of the photo shows the white feathers and long shape consistent with a nighthawk. Regarding Common vs. Lesser, I am no expert on these as roosting birds, so I consulted others, and this from Alex Lamoreaux "Yes this is a female Lesser. CONI have 6 primary tips visible when perched and they become more pointed, whereas LENI have 5 primary tips visible and they are each more blunt-tipped. That one covert is out of place and blocking the are of the primaries that would show the (very faint on females) wingbar, but you can just make it out directly under the outermost covert. On a CONI, the wingbar would be further up under the coverts."
