Observation details
Common Bronzewings (Phaps chalcoptera) are particularly abundant along the south coast of Western Australia. This male Common Bronzewing was sitting on the roof of a chalet in the Emu Beach Holiday Park in Albany, preening and calling in the late afternoon sun. The sound quality is not good – there was a noisy family nearby, but its frog-like call can be heard.
