Observation details
Studied from 11:20 - 11:45. Terrible digiscoped images included. Also photographed by Chris And Mallary. Small white geese with black primaries resting on East Pond with Canada Geese and Mallards - watched from south side. All 17 were the size of Mallards, with very rounded heads (Chris remarked heads were "like golf balls"), with stubby pinkish bills. I was able to make out that the base of the bills looked vertical and uncurved. All three of us agreed there were exactly 17 and they all were the same size (Mallard-sized). We also had a good, but distant, look at them in flight heading west (3-5 minute look) and we eventually lost them against the blue sky. Later I saw a similar-sized group of white waterfowl in the east pond from the central dike, well west of the first observation.
