Observation details
About four hours after having seen and photographed a single bird at Womens Bay, 6.8 km to the west, two birds were seen together on mudflats at head of Middle Bay. They were watched through scope and digiscoped. Both were apparent males, with rich reddish-brown breasts and bellies and grayish or whitish faces and necks. Watched both birds fly away, and clearly saw squarish stark white uppertail covert patches and black underwing coverts. Taken as a separate record from this morning's Womens Bay bird, this is the fourth record of the species in the Kodiak Archipelago.
