Observation details
Lone grebe swimming mostly with coots. Appears to be adult in winter plumage. Large clean white cheeks with pretty clean line between white and black. head shape has slight peak like eared Grebe from some angles but usually held so that peak of head is behind eye. Doesn't carry rear high like eared Grebe, white extends down front of throat, bill not upturned but rather straight. Red eye, very light flanks. It was pointed out to me that the tip of the bill appears white in some photos, which would be ID for horned grebe. I see that too in review
