Observation details
Mega: Potential first or second county record (pending Frazier Point, 1993). Once again, a far off bird with subpar viewing conditions (I.e. gray, windy), but pertinent field marks noted and well seen. Medium ‘hooded’ gull with a rather extensive hood (compare Laughing), eye arcs seen from a distance, darkish gray back, broad and extensive white tertial crescent with more white on its wingtips. Located on the far shore to the west of Marlboro Beach foraging with Ring-billed Gulls. We went to try to locate it from that side, but was unable to find it when we got there (lots of flushing by Eagles today). Not seen thereafter, unfortunately, even after going back to Marlboro Beach.
