Observation details
I suspected this was a Lark Bunting and later discussed this with Gavin Aquila who agrees. Very short (40 ms) long straight descending chip from 8.3 kHz to 7.5 kHz, a perfect match for Lark Bunting flight call based on archives in ebird. Too high for a warbler, and more like the high frequencies of sparrows. However, almost all sparrows have longer calls.
