Observation details
Smallish, chunky shorebird. Brownish-gray above, white below, long decurved bill, and black legs. With killdeer out on mudflats. Likely a knockdown due to weather. Sixth county record! While walking down the trail to the lake, a shorebird flushed from the muddy lake edge and flew off to the north. On the one distant circular pass it made, it appeared to be rather chunky and had a relatively long bill, making me think wilson's snipe or dunlin. The same bird (or perhaps a second individual) was out on the exposed mudflats a few minutes later. I didn't see a dunlin fly in from any direction, so my guess is that there were likely 2 around. Bad photos in very low light below.
