Observation details
A flash of yellow caught my eye when this bird landed on a tree near where Wicker's Creek empties into the Hudson River. Was reminded of the Western Kingbird seen at Croton Point last year when I saw the head and beak. It quickly flew to three separate perches in a short time. Unfortunately, the bird stayed for only a few minutes before leaving. (There was also a Merlin and a Cooper's Hawk in the area). A real thrill for sure! (Please see photos for verification of this species). Please note: Julien Amsellem arrived later and made a recording in addition to some more photos. He identified it as a Tropical Kingbird after I originally ID'd it as a Western Kingbird.
