Observation details
It heavily preferred the "divide" shaded area (46.422223, -117.020873) in the main pond, returning there when flushed and spending a lot of time sleeping in it, standing on a rock. Best viewed from the north side. Bird had female Mallard-like head with dull yellow-olive bill, with very dark brown body. Speculum deep violet-blue with black border. Watched for a long time and photographed a lot (Mason took over 500 photos). Also seen by Kas & Carl when they came by. https://ibrc.idahobirds.net/rare-bird-reports/american-black-duck
