Media notes
Bird closer than the photo suggests, but an iPhone can only do so much. If you try hard enough you can make out the straight slender wings and squared dark tail.
Observation details
Walking on Veterans Drive when a raptor caught my eye. It was lazily circling and maneuvering in the wind. I only stopped as I was hoping to catch a Broad-wing but I quickly realized it was a kite. A flying cross shape with long slender wings and medium length square tail. Bird appeared all dark gray with no markings naked eye. (For what it is worth, couldn’t make out any orange paneling in wings or striping on tail to check for plumbeous). The most beautiful iPhone photo will be attached.
