Observation details
Foraging on lawn. Cackling goose with thick white stripe between black neck and gray/tan breast, short bill, flat head. This individual had some interesting plumage features, including more extensive white feathers along neck, and along borders of face patch. Possibly Aleutian, but appeared to only have a faint gular stripe and a more gentle slope to forehead. Due to the unusual plumage characteristics, I pause to identify down to a particular subspecies.
