dark-billed bird on bottom, pale-billed bird above
Observation details
Would like opinions on these suspected F/juv BAGOs. Mostly pale bill on one bird, noticeable manes on both, and fairly steep foreheads. In flight, only a modest amount of white in wings. On flight shot of darker-billed bird, there's seemingly only 6 white secondaries, and it lacks the dark bar splitting the white as in first bird (significant? a trait of juv?). I had this latter one labeled Common/Barrow's for a time and can be convinced just to call both these birds that way given that on rare occasions F Common can have a mostly pale bill (Sibley, 2010 paper). I suspect the dark billed bird is a juv.
