Media notes
Identified by recordist as P. p. florentiae. Myles used ML 2721 for playback and subsequently located a covey of at least four birds, possibly six. J.H.M. Horne counts the use of playback by Myles at five, which resulted in various combinations of song including some duets and single soft notes. Each time Myles started the birds up with playback, he would miss the first section of the chorus. Myles saw two of the birds cross the road with their tails sticking up like bantom fowl. Habitat: Steep rocky hillside with a number of large trees and thick undergrowth. Sound stimulation was (other): PLAYBACK SAME SPECIES. Habitat: Forest, Canyon, Rocky.
