Green Woodhoopoes (Phoeniculus purpureus) are common and widespread in Sub-Saharan Africa, and are often seen in noisy, cackling groups. This adult Green Woodhoopoe was using an artificial nestbox in a well-treed private garden in Schoemansville near Hartbeespoort Dam in South Africa.
