Observation details
6 vultures were soaring very high. I attempted to pay close attention to all six as I had known that a single black vulture had been seen in the area recently. Lighting was terrible, but it did appear to have the silver wing tips and complete absence of the grayish half under the wings of a turkey vulture. This bird apparently had a dark head and short tail. But I will definitely change this checklist if my poor photo shows otherwise. I did notice that while they were soaring, flight seemed smooth and without the V shape of turkey vultures. Update: Added a second photo which shows that there were two black vultures present. Other birds I saw soaring were turkey vultures, as I had a chance to go through my photos more.
