Observation details
Fascinating to see this accipter at such close range, seemingly could care less about my nearby presence, stack of central retrices of equal length point to Sharpie. Quite a few birds in the vicinity complaining about its presence including a brave Bewick's Wren occasionally popping out quite close to it to give it what for before prudently diving back to deep cover. Note: this bird was so small, I wondered briefly if it might be a Merlin! But Merlin's have dark eyes (this bird has yellow eye of immature Sharp-shinned), and also, Merlins have shorter tails than this bird.
