Observation details
Way off to the SE and generally soaring to the South. Got on it late and only saw it briefly before it disappeared behind the tree tops. With the naked I, I thought it was going to be an eagle, but through the binos, my subconscious tripped BLVU warning bells. Immediately switched to camera and managed two shots before it disappeared. All I really noted, other than initial impression, was that it did not have a dihedral and was stable in flight. Rest of ID, gleaned from two poor pictures. In pics, vulture head, short tail and bulging secondaries apparent. Wings appear flat or bowed downwards and you may be able to pic up a hint of silver in primaries if you really try.
