Observation details
Red-billed Firefinches (Lagonosticta senegala) are widely distributed throughout sub-Saharan Africa and are only absent from areas of desert and rainforest. This male was on the water’s edge of Sunset Dam in the southern section of Kruger National Park in the company of calling Egyptian Geese and a Village Indigobird. Village Indigobirds are nest parasites of Red-billed Firefinches. Video.
