***mega; first and only Massachusetts record as of 2016 and one of few for the East Coast, though it is to be watched for; cited by Conover, Boardman. 1944. The Races of the Solitary Sandpiper. Auk 61(4):537-544 (see article) and also in Veit and Petersen (1993. Birds of Massachusetts) who cite Convover (1994) and write "the western race, T. s. cinnamomea...has been collected once in August of an unspecified year"; FMNH specimen graciously located and photographed by Mary Hennen
