Observation details

Riding bike checking out the Ring-billed gulls lined up on break wall when this smaller than Ring-billed gull caught my eye . Kept my distance not to flush, taking photos as I tried to ID the bird . Not having a field guild present posed a problem never seeing one before so I described the bird and sent a few images to a well known birder for confirmation that in fact it was a Juvenile Laughing Gull . Very dark almost black legs , longer drooped dark or near solid black bill with white eye ring / crescents different tones of brown than a Ring-billed and slightly smaller body . Tail looked rather black until seen through sunlight .
