Observation details
I saw many PIGU in the bay Juvie's and adults, most had already made the transitional plumage change. This bird was not just behind the others in plumage it also acted a bit differently and was not found in the areas we were seeing other PIGU. It was near the mouth of the bay near a steep cliff face, the water is very deep there and we normally don't see seabirds of any species in the area. It only flapped its wings once and the color of the wing linning was white not gray. There was no black wing wedge in the middle of the white patch. Back in December a BLGU was seen photographed and confirmed.
