Observation details
Continuing bird found yesterday by Pete Morris, re-located today by Arie Gilbert and after it disappeared for a bit, was re-found by Derek Rogers. During this time frame, a group of 7 of us had very close clear views of the bird hunting and occasionally taking flight for short distances at the shoreline. The bird was a medium sized white heron with two long individual plumes originating from its nape, purplish/gray lores (rather than yellow lores of Snowy Egret), solid black legs, orange-yellow coloration on feet appeared darker than typical Snowy Egret. Little Egret bill and legs appeared thicker and longer and head flatter than that of Snowy Egret. Pictures obtained.
