One of the pair that was closer to me. No evidence of red iris or of white border around face.
Observation details
2 together near the Great Egrets, 1 behind the small flock of Canada Geese. Photos of all 3. Also seen by other birders. Additional photos from same birds downloaded on 9/26/20 showing that there is no rosy gloss on upper tail coverts and no evidence of red eye (iris appears dark).
