Observation details
Discovered near the NWA Headquarters by Ron Jensen and Don Weidl. I was driving down from S’toon and we'd been exchanging updates via text messages. After I arrived at the NWA Headquarters, they informed me about this pair of getting-to-be-late HUGOs. I was able to observe the birds a few minutes later. Field marks noted: Medium-sized shorebirds; plain, brownish-gray upperparts with whitish underparts; prominent pale supercilium; bill fairly long and slightly upturned – it was dull pinkish at the base, which blended into dark about half-way towards the tip; the black tail with white rump patch was visible, as birds perched in shallow water, just offshore.
