Observation details
First heard this hawk headed back to the west access parking lot. Right away sounded like a RSHA to me, was able to get a short recording as it called consistently every minute or so for 20 minutes. I tracked it to a patch of Doug firs just west of where Elwha Dike road meets Place Rd. I finally saw it as it flew NE, a small Buteo with a banded tail and a densely streaked chest, not bright orange so a juvenile I think but everything looks dark in the fog. It flew toward the River mouth but I lost it in the fog. Will post recording soon.
