Observation details
My first sighting of hoopoe for this location. Hoopoe came to my backyard! It was busy eating something in a dry patch. The common plot is overgrown with weeds in some areas and there's short dry grass in patches here and there. It was there when I came to the rooftop and it flew to a tree in the common plot 2-4 minutes before I stopped the checklist. Jungle babblers were hopping around it when it was on the ground. Opened the crest feathers when the babblers got too close and some other times too. Got photos for record.
