Observation details
flushed a small sparrow from the grasses along the top of the embankment at about 6:15 pm. Initially noticed a small pale buffy-coloured, short-tailed bird that kept low to the ground and landed in a Birch tree a couple of feet above ground. Straw coloured streaks along it's back, a buffy face with faint eye-ring and grayish triangular ear patch. Whitish belly with fine streaking across throat and along sides. Pale central crown stripe bordered by two dark stripes.
