Observation details
photo: female: I don't know which: my first impression was Downy, but it seemed too big, but when a robin came right up to it, the woodpecker was slightly smaller than the robin: the bill size also seems sort of inbetween Downy & Hairy: NO spots outer tail : drumming, -- so females do drum : getting some more views of it, I think it must be a slightly-small Hairy; then, photo of male Hairy with longer bill: he calls, the female flies over, and copulation seen at 9:15am, maybe 10 seconds? 5-20 sec
