Observation details
Flagged as rare, this continuing pair was seen perched and in flight a short distance upstream from the end of the paved path that starts at the end of Olde Kent Road. Several times one bird was seen bringing nesting material (a small stick) to the other bird while it was perched near but not at a flimsy stick nest high on an outer branch of a sycamore tree. Each time the receiving bird placed the offered stick under it, which may indicate construction of a new nest. Later, both birds flew a short distance to a narrow drainage channel in back of nearby townhouses, where I watched one bird forage at close range for an extended period.
