NOTES: Weather: WIND; A FEW MINUTES PRIOR TO THIS RECORDING, I HAD FLUSHED TWO BOBWHITE FROM GRASSES AT THE EDGE OF THE POND. ONE FLEW THE 90M ACROSS THE POND TOA BRUSHY PATCH, WHILE THE OTHER FLEW A SHORTER DISTANCE IN NEARLY THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. APPARENTLY THIS LATTER BIRD THEN STARTED WALKING BACK TOWARD THE POND, I.E. TOWARD THE FIRST BIRD, UNTIL IT ENCOUNTERED THE EDGE OF THE WATER. AT THIS POINT IT MUST HAVE CLIMBED THE SLOPING TRUNK OF THE WILLOW, FROM WHICH PERCH IT GAVE THE RECORDED CALLS. UPON ANSWER FROM THE FIRST BIRD, THE SECOND FLEW ACROSS THE POND. MARSHY POND SURROUNDED BY SOME BRUSH AMIDST CULTIVATED FIELDS. Sex: 1 UNKNOWN BNA: The vocalization heard may be the "Group Movement Call" also called the "Separation Call" or "Scatter Call", phonetically sounding like "koi-lee" or "hoyee" . CZ 05/02/2004. ML: Subject changed by ML archival staff from Colinus virginianus to Colinus virginianus [virginianus Group] following eBird/Clements v2016. -Jay McGowan, 3 Aug 2016. Habitat: Pond.
