Observation details
**rare; one of first juveniles reported in North America this fall. Originally detected roosting on wooden pilings with LESA and WESA. Larger than other peeps (Pectoral-sized), with rufous cap, bold eyeline, and buffy wash to breast extending down flanks. White throat, and streaking below restricted to sides of breast and flanks. Bold pale and rufous edging to feathers above including pale bracers on saddle between wings. Bill heftier than peeps, pale at base, drooping towards tip. Pale legs. Photographed extensively. Life plumage, and even more incredibly stunning than I’d imagined!
