Observation details
Feeding in the grassy area next to the pond. I walked into it and immediately scared one up. It then joined 2 others and they flew around the pond several times before settling down in the grass about 30 meters from our car. I then army crawled over to them, to find out they were just peacefully foraging and didn't mind my presence too much. These images were painful to take as I laid in the dry dirt and pressed jagged rocks into my skin. Worth. it.
