Observation details
*Rare breeder in county. Continuing but keeping a low profile this summer. Mostly south of BBA block like but one group at border. Adult and two full grown juveniles towards south (0.8mi S of road or so), another adult foraging father north, closer to 0.6mi S. At least two (likely three) begging juveniles here as well, giving soft rasping calls regularly from dense vegetation. I associate these calls with much younger chicks, so possibly a second younger brood? Possible older birds can give it too and they were siblings from the southern group. Birds giving sharp calls from marsh at this point also gave me the impression there might have been two adults in this area, which would indicate two pairs, but leaving number as most conservative count.
