Observation details
Rare bird reported in the park. Easily found this morning from its incredibly loud song. A lound, burry vireo-like "three-eight" could be heard all the way by the library building though the bird was in the cottonwoods in the center of the park. Song projection was almost robin-like and unlike that of any western vireos. Bright yellow breast with sharp horizontal edge against white belly and undertail. Head was yellow but had a faint olive wash contrasting with bright yellow spectacles. Gray wings with two white wingbars. Short dark tail.
