Observation details
*rare, continuing bird. Amazing experience with this individual; I walked down the beach, following the wrack line, until the bird popped up 10' in front of me. I laid down and it approached within 3' of my face while I photographed it, not minding me at all. Foraged along the sand banks left by the tide, jabbing at the seaweed to grab small flies. Often stretched up tall on its toes to reach the top of the bank, and perched on tarsi when resting. Never strayed more than 4' from me until I moved on. Beautiful bird! Second BBSA of the day.
