Observation details
I caught a split-second glimpse of a large, dark bird that immediately disappeared over a cliff and I wanted to identify it, so I left the main trail and walked upwards on another small trail to the edge of the summit. Moments later, what appeared to be a Turkey Vulture sailed in on a thermal, heading right toward us, and I began shooting, realizing as its face came into view that it wasn't a Turkey Vulture but a Zone-tailed Hawk (immature).
