Observation details
Took two photos of a WTSW as it screamed through the junipers below me as I tried to refind the mountain quail I’d just seen. Rarely see them this low, but was lucky to get a reasonable shot (Two shots) and captured a most interesting look of this bird. It appears as if the bird has a mouthful...both photo’s show the same thing. Perhaps this bird is feeding young? Or maybe they just puff their cheeks into a catlike shape for no reason at all. Photography is at its best when it allows one to see things otherwise not perceivable.
