Observation details
While watching the BBSA I noticed the small group of peeps had expanded slightly as they wheeled about in a group and a larger peep had joined them. It had a black line down the rump so was looking promising for Baird’s immediately. I told Ernst and the other photographer there and we went over to find a juv BASA at the puddle. Longer-winged peep with overall cool-brown aspect above, pleasant scalloping on covert and scap edges, black legs, faintly marked face, wide body when facing down its axis.
