Observation details
Bird found about 5 minutes after arrival just uproad from .5 km culvert. It worked its way uproad to the 25 mph sign, singing in low brush and going to the ground foraging. Watched the bird for a good 20 minutes during which time it posed for great photo ops. Five white stripes on head with one of them extending down below bill to throat, gray bill, black chest spot, Lesser Goldfinch size body. This bird today was smaller than the Five-striped I saw and photogrgraphed in June of this year at same location. Suspected a second bird today calling from a different location but not 100% certain. A beautiful sparrow indeed. Photos to follow tonight.
