Observation details
Observed for 45min while eating dinner along waterfront near ferry pier. Bird disappeared twice for extended periods before returning, but otherwise stayed in same small area diving regularly, and stretching wings a couple of times. Small loon, with thin upturned bill. Bill always held up at slight angle above horizontal. Thin dark area along back of neck, barely reaching eye; strong contrast with clear white face. Dark on upperwing, light on underwing with dark edges. Photos attached.
