Media notes
1-2 birds. Sharp, persistent clucking (alarm/scold). The bird began calling in response to hand squeaking. Appears to be a faint, clucking sound along with main scolding call. Perhaps the hen is making this sound. According to Hachisuka and Udagawa (1951), altitudinal ranges and song descriptions eliminate all other identification possibilities. Habitat: Steep, heavily brush-covered foothills forming narrow ravines. Other Behaviors: Scold, Emit Alarm. Habitat: Canyon.
