Observation details
On the thin sandy beach on the harbor side. We got pictures. I’m not very experienced with Calidris sandpipers, but I think these were Semipalmated because of their small size (about 6”), and also because they didn’t seem to have as long of wings as the Baird’s Sandpipers in the pics I’ve seen. Their wing tips met evenly with the ends of their tail feathers. They came almost right up to us as we watched them.
