Observation details
They were pumping water into the cell with the Phalarope and other shorebirds, rapidly losing habitat. The Phalarope was swimming (not wading like a Wilson's Phalarope) on the southern edge of the cell. Much smaller than nearby Lesser Yellowlegs (Wilson's would be bigger like a Lesser Yellowlegs); a touch of red on the nape of the neck; streaked grey back; white throat and face except for the swoosh at the eye; small needle-like black bill. Photographed.
